Dream Shutter - Quagmire of Representation

There is the original, sensory Dream, only the person who dreamt it knows, then there is the telling of it, how to put it in words and what is missing in words and what can’t be expressed, then the translation of those words in an artist's interpretation which is re-configured in their own minds, this happens for the dreamer and artist alike, then the attempt to illustrate or in any way crudely represent the sensorial feeling of the dream, knowing and not knowing the dreamer to varying degrees, the talent to depict the original and what is reimagined, knowing and not knowing what is lost in translation, what is forgotten by the original dreamer and remembered in reaction to a distorted recreation of the dream, what is remembered or forgotten by the dreamer in the first place, what they are willing to share and what remains hidden, what is retained and re-dreamed by the audience, what is hidden by artist and audience within their own unconscious.
